The Town of Fort Erie is currently developing a series of 10 themed loop tours to mark points of interest around Fort Erie thus highlighting its rich history and heritage. People can travel at their own pace following their own interests to these outdoor sites to learn more about the history of the area. Each loop tour will include a series of stations with signage, photographs, or mock-ups explaining aspects of the particular theme being highlighted.
Presently, the two themes underway are:
1. A War of 1812 Loop Tour with six stations outlining Fort Erie's involvement in the War of 1812, the British occupation and the Siege of Historic Fort Erie.
2. Archaeological Loop Tour with ten stations exploring over 9,000 years of native history in Fort Erie.
