The Museum Board has been active in helping assess and document built structures in Fort Erie and provides a number of resources to assist people and support the Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Commitee.

Material for research--The museum's reference collection has material to assist the public in researching their properties. These include newspaper articles, fire insurance maps. land registry records and selective inventories (1969 and 1977).

Photographic collection--Large portions of the town are represented in a vast collection of photographs.

Inventory--A list of surviving built heritage which informs about broad local trends in style and settlement. The inventory is an ongoing project with 693 completed entries representing 25 per cent of Fort Erie. More details.

Sampling--Snapshots of specific historic buildings (usually prior to demolition) providing documentation and building material sampling such as paint, wallpaper, flooring, etc.
