The Built Heritage Inventory is an illustrated inventory of structures
and monuments constructed to provide shelter, conduct business and mark
property. It is an ongoing project with 693 properties currently inventoried.
It is not just a list of houses, since surviving outbuildings, markers
and monuments also provide valuable information. Nor is it a list of pretty
buildings. It is a list of structures that inform our knowledge of the
past in this area regardless of their current condition or aesthetic qualities.
Information that can be gathered include farm layouts, building patterns,
settlement patterns, industrial patterns, growth of building styles, etc.
It can include structural evidence of the following

-horse farms / complexes
-hobby farms
-mixed farms
- family cemeteries
- special features
-gates, for example
- transportation / railroad / working landscapes
- settlement
-business street corridors

-public beaches
